The mission of the Conservation Outings program is to educate and encourage citizens to support protection of the rivers, forests, deserts, and wildlife of this unique place. The Idaho Green Party seeks to protect and restore the ecological integrity of all critical wildlife habitats in Idaho and the northern Rockies. We are committed to wildland preservation through the use of sound science, sustainable economic practices, and public education. We oppose the commercial exploitation of public lands.
Passion for place defines our efforts. We offer an inclusive voice on public lands issues. Our objectives include the following:
End destructive livestock grazing practices on public lands, starting with the Owyhee Canyonlands
Build support for an appropriate wilderness designation that encompasses all the representative ecosystems in the Owyhee Canyonlands
End the exclusion of citizen input on public land issues from the political discourse in Idaho
Passage of the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act (NREPA), ensuring protection for every roadless area in the Northern Rockies
Permanent wolf protection in Idaho with a naturally controlled population in places where wolves choose to live
Allow wolves to migrate from Idaho to any other western state they choose
Return of the grizzly bear to its rightful place in the Idaho wilderness
